The Department is proud to announce that Paddy McShane has been awarded tenure and promoted to Associate Professor at the University of Portland.
McShane is a 2015 Georgetown philosophy Ph.D. She wrote her dissertation on the goods realized through dependence on moral testimony, under the mentorship of Mark C. Murphy and with the further guidance of committee members Maggie Little and Karen Stohr.
McShane has published articles in Episteme, Philosophical Studies, the Journal of Moral Philosophy, and Religious Studies, and has work forthcoming in Oxford Studies in Normative Ethics. She founded UP’s bioethics bowl team, and has coached them to two national championships.
