The Kennedy Institute of Ethics

The Kennedy Institute of Ethics is one of the world’s premier bioethics institutes. The Philosophy Department and the Kennedy Institute of Ethics have an especially close relationship. Seven members of the department are also senior scholars at the Kennedy Institute, and graduate students working in practical ethics, including bioethics, do so through the graduate programs of the Philosophy Department.

The Program on Justice and Peace

The Program on Justice and Peace is a transdisciplinary, cross-cultural community of students, faculty, staff, and community partners who share a commitment to academic study and lived pursuits of peace and social justice.

The Cognitive Science Program

The Cognitive Science Program has strong ties with the humanities, especially with Philosophy. They offer a minor in Cognitive Science, and courses are open to all students.

Georgetown’s Normative Orders Collaborative

Georgetown’s Normative Orders Collaborative was an interdisciplinary and international effort wherein both Georgetown University and Fudan University (Shanghai) extended the pioneering efforts of the Cluster of Excellence on the Formation of Normative Orders at the Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany. It sponsored the Moral Innovation Seminar, a full-year faculty & graduate student seminar led in 2014-2015 by Professors Henry S. Richardson and Terry Pinkard.
