Prof. Huaping Lu-Adler’s Kant and the Science of Logic: A Historical and Philosophical Reconstruction, has appeared with Oxford University Press. Lu-Adler develops a detailed reconstruction of Kant’s theory of logic, both in its mature form and in its development. Lu-Adler places the development of Kant’s logic in the context of debates about the nature of logic and its relation to other areas of philosophy, mathematics, and the sciences. She draws on this history of logic from Aristotle to Kant, and she examines the way in which the notion of a transcendental logic influenced Kant’s broader theory of logic in general.
