Annual Undergraduate Awards
Each spring, the Department of Philosophy presents two awards to graduating seniors.
Stephen F. McNamee Award
The Stephen F. McNamee Ethics award was founded by Dr. Ernest R.S. Witten, C’l938, M’l944, in 1977 to honor Rev. Stephen F. McNamee, S.J., and is presented annually to the Georgetown College senior who has demonstrated outstanding scholastic achievement in the study of philosophical ethics.
Ryan Medal
The Ryan medal was founded by the Misses Mary A. and Theresa F. E. Ryan and is awarded to the senior philosophy major who maintains the highest average in advanced philosophy courses.
