Mattingly is Assistant Professor in the Philosophy Department of
Georgetown University. After studying Physics at the University
of California - Santa Cruz, Professor Mattingly studied History
and Philosophy of Science at Indiana University.
Dr.
Mattingly works primarily in the philosophy of physics, attending
mostly to issues that arise in the transition from classical to
quantum gravity. He also has interests in the foundations of logic
and mathematics, especially geometry and the work of Weyl and Brouwer.
